Covid-19 Happened

When I crossed over to the new year, 2020, I only hoped for the best. Little did I know. Covid-19 happened. The globe shrinked in a speed of light and plans got messed up. We are all hopeless. This pandemic hit us hard and we didn't see it coming. All systems are affected and everyone feel helpess. However, our leaders are doing their best to rescue us. We have been home for more than we have ever expected. This is unusual to us all but I believe we will get through it. I believe we just need to follow measures in place to help fight it.

JOB MARKET

Job market it's a rough field for us all. I have searched all corners  for employment in Public Relations and Communication. Posts are always available on various online platforms. I apply with a good written CV and experience between 3-4 years. But it is difficult to secure myself a permanent position as a communicator.

In most cases when not being hired for what we love and studied for, we end up taking any available offers. This is dangerous because in the process it is possible to hate the job.

I'm a qualified Public Relation and Communications from the University of Johannesburg. I recently worked as an Office Manager running all admin work for our company. And worked as a Media Liaison intern at the Department of Communication and Information System for twelve months. I also worked as  Public Relations learner at Primedia Broadcasting for four months. I further volunteered for campus newspaper as a journalist. I also worked as telephone researcher for IPSOS South Africa.

I'm professional and a hard worker in every activity that I do. I don't stop at anything to achieve expected results and even go beyond. I'm always open for new challenges and growth. My most outstanding strength lies within content development. I can be an assert within a communications department/unit.

Should there be a need, my skills can be further discussed...

I SAY: WE DON'T HAVE THE RIGHTS TO JUDGE EACH OTHER

I'm far from writing about "homophobic" story which was trending on Sunday, 22 Jan. However, I would like to say: All judgemental people must just get a chair and sit down.

I'm not writing to support anyone. I write about what I know and have experienced. Years back, I felt judged that I even wanted to move to another church. In brief: I have a child out of wedlock and fully agree that it is wrong but still think that no one has the rights to remind me of my sins. But to help me stand against them, to learn and improve. People should love me with all my mistakes like God does. They must leave judgement to God.

Christianity is a very sensitive subject. I personally think that Christianity is personal. It is a deal between one person and God. That should be known and be understood very well. Everyone is allowed to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and saviour with or without sins. Not all of us will spiritually grow fast or at once.

People need to leave judging  to God because no one is perfect. If anyone think that they are perfect, then they should pray for me. I want to be like them.
Judging others is one of the reasons why people move from God or don't go to church at all.

According to me, church should be a second home for everyone. It should be a place where we going when feeling challenged spiritually or otherwise. I see it as a spiritual clinic. And through the process we will therefore learn to keep God's commandments.

Fellow brothers and sisters should know their bibles and  what God is saying about them. Learn to only look up to God for help but not people of flesh because we all make mistakes. They should not allow people of the flesh to drive them out of God's love or house.

Among other scriptures which teaches about judgement, I read from ones below:
Matthew 7:1-2 (1 Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you)
James 4:1 (Don't speak against one another brothers. He who speaks against a brother and judges his brother speaks against  the law and judge the law, you are not a doer of the law, but a judge)
John 8:4&7 (4 they told him, " Teacher, we found this woman in adultery, in the very act". 7 But when they continued asking him,  he looked up and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him throw the first stone at her".

EVERYONE IS ENTITLED TO HIS/HER OPINIONS

I grew-up in an environment where television was educating. However, I did not know the real reason why there is television. Even now I want to believe that television is educating though there are those programmes that I watch and feel that why this programme is being broadcasted. Television caters for a broad variety of people, whereas people we often adopt from its programmes.

Individually we live by our own values, however at some point the media influence them by setting agendas and framing issues. The media share ideas about old and current issues to our societies on a daily basis. Our communities therefore adapt to those ideas as the right way of living.

We individually have reasons why we use the media. Some use media as part of their entertainment while others use it for educational and guidance purpose. However, today some of our media activities are no-longer educational nor adding value to our lives.

On Wednesday, 12 June 2013, Drum magazine published views of former generation actor, Mike Mvelase known as Khaphela. According to Drum Mvelase said “The writers of Generations are sending out the wrong message. What lessons are they teaching our kids with the characters of Senzo and Jason?"read more

Personally I believe that media will never change but will grow in framing and setting agendas for our societies, but it will depends on us to which programmes we choose to watch. Using viewership reports will assist to know what the public really wants.

DEATH STOLE FROM OUR SOUTH AFRICAN FAMILY ONCE AGAIN!

Death steals from our families on a daily basis without thinking about those who will be left behind. It is a visitor of all families and at its own time. No one can choose when to die and how. It is always by the will of God. Those left behind can hold on to great memories that our brothers and sisters have left behind.

EDUCATION IS FOR US ALL BUT THE CHOICE TO STUDY LIES WITHIN A SINGLE HEART

Education is the key

Education is the key to success and everyone needs it. We need education to survive the various fields . Most celebrities in South Africa are educated and still furthering their studies.

While reading the news, I came across an article published by The Sowetan Live on 05 September 2012. The article informed me about Thulisile Madihlaba's graduations at the University of Johannesburg read more. Thulisile is well-known as Chomee, a young and talented dancer and musician in South Africa. watch video

When reading the article, I got encouraged. I realised that celebrities are not just school uniform donors but they also have a desire to have their own qualifications. In most cases the media frame celebrities as people who only donate uniforms to schools.

I always thought about getting involved in other activities while studying. Well it is possible as chomee achieved her diploma after a long four years of her part-time studies.

The media present Chomee as a celebrity that understand building relationships with her fans because The Sowetan Live on  the 07 October 2010 reported that Chomee offered ten bursaries to tertiary students that were selected from a deluge of letters that followed as a result of their invitations during her birthday party.
She demand what she deserve
Educated people have their own ways of doing things. Another article published by The SundayWorld on the 24 September 2012 states that chomee quits over miniscule pay. The content of the article made me realise that educated people provide service on an understandable and fair payment read more
