I grew-up in an environment where television was educating. However, I did not know the real reason why there is television. Even now I want to believe that television is educating though there are those programmes that I watch and feel that why this programme is being broadcasted. Television caters for a broad variety of people, whereas people we often adopt from its programmes.
Individually we live by our own values,however at some point the media influence them by setting agendas and framing issues. The media share ideas about old and current issues to our societies on a daily basis. Our communities therefore adapt to those ideas as the right way of living.
We individually have reasons why we use the media. Some use media as part of their entertainment while others use it for educational and guidance purpose. However,today some of our media activities are no-longer educational nor adding value to our lives.

Personally I believe that media will never change but will grow in framing and setting agendas for our societies, but it will depends on us to which programmes we choose to watch. Using viewership reports will assist to know what the public really wants.
Television is indeed educating, and even thou the public might not agree with the content that is being aired on our TV screens, the editors and producers are generally depicting what is truly happening in real life.
